Mike and some volunteers (likely bribed with alcohol) will be setting up the event area from 7am and some of those helping will remain on site throughout.
If you would like to, are able to, or maybe bribed to, help with some of the set up (especially those not going to the ceremony), please speak to Mike! Volunteers are most definitely required!
The area we intend to occupy within the public park will be very obvious, we don't have any exclusive use arrangements in place and while we can’t disallow anyone else from using the space, we expect people will naturally avoid it.
We have 4 gazebos that will be set up in case of unfavourable weather and a number of camping chairs.
If you have a gazebo, chairs, bean bags, or anything else you'd like to have on the day and would rather not carry with you upon arrival, then these can be dropped off to us in advance and we’ll bring them to the site on the day. Please label anything you drop off so that we can ensure the right item goes back to the right person. We will be hiring a van to transport all these items to the site. Alternatively, items can be dropped off at the park on your way to the ceremony or you can can just bring them when you arrive. If you are kindly lending a gazebo, this will need to be dropped off before the ceremony so that it can be erected before there are too many guests around.
This is a bring-your-own picnic so please bring your own food & drinks, though there is also a cafe situated within the park.
There are BBQ stands on site that will fit two large disposable BBQ’s each, I could also bring along my large gas BBQ if someone wants to use it.
We will have some containers of ice to place drinks into and there will be some disposable cups, plates & cutlery.
We’ve not set an end time, you can stay as long as you like! The park does officially close at dusk however there is pedestrian access to the park at all times and there is no enforcement of closing times.
Unfortunately we do however need to pack everything down at the end of the night so we would appreciate some help there too. The plan is to simply put everything in the van and deal with properly the following day, of course you’re welcome (encouraged) to take your own items home with you!
